After almost 3 years into semi-retirement from the electronic contract assembly industry, longtime partners Jack Vincken and Frank Lam decided to leap back in with both feet, incorporating Mara Technologies in the Fall of 2003. It wasn’t long before a suitable building was found in the Markham area and following a complete renovation, assembly equipment including 2 SMT lines as well as a range of Auto Thru hole sequencing, axial, radial and DIP machines were purchased. As soon as production had commenced, Mara began to draw interest from various customers.

Mara began engaged primarily in consigned contract work; however, due to increasing customer demand expanded its operation to include full turnkey supply chain solutions.

In the summer of 2006, due to increased demand, a third SMT line was added to the manufacturing operation. Adding this third line sacrificed floor space which led Mara management to deciding a larger facility was required to fulfill the requirements of existing customers and to allow for proper growth and expansion.
In June of 2008 Mara opened the doors to it’s brand new, state of the art custom built facility. With 40,000 sq. ft of space, the new facility more than tripled the size of Mara’s operation.

Today Mara has grown to a mid size assembly house employing more than 80 employees with 5 full SMT lines and are confidently looking forward to growing its business by optimally serving its customer base with superb quality and reliable delivery.
